A new month. Another Share The Creativity. This months session was hosted by Nick Corke, Audrey and Nic who shared with us a case study on one of our Studio projects run by Audrey, some very inspirational, typographic memorabilia that Nick collects and some great hints and tips from the very handy Nic. Perfectly accompanied with some delicious Dim Sum!

DYDD GWYL DEW SANT HAPUS!

As it's St. Davids Day today Karen thought she would share a very old picture with everyone and share what the celebration of St. David means to everyone in Wales ...

In Wales today, everyone will be celebrating the feast day of St. David, the patron saint of Wales which falls on 1st March every year in remembrance of the death of St. David. You may be wondering why Karen is dressed the way she is. Well, across the nation children will be taking part in school concerts or eisteddfodau, with recitation and singing being the main activity. The welsh have two national emblems, the daffodil (in season during March) and the leek (which was St. Davids personal symbol) which the majority of people today will be seen to be wearing. However, traditionally younger girls will wear what Karen has on in the picture...the traditional Welsh costume. A long woolen skirt, white blouse, a woolen shawn and a Welsh hat.

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant Hapus everyone!

PULAU UBIN 乌敏岛 ADVENTURES

Monique recently spent the day cycling around Palau Ubin, the second largest off shore island of Singapore. Here are some of the great shots that she took that capture the personality of the island. For those of you who haven't explored it yet it's definitely worth a visit!

SINGAPORE BOTANIC GARDENS

As a newbie to Singapore, Nick recently paid his first visit to the Botanic Gardens. The highlight for him was the Orchid Garden ... and for us the Botanic Gardens are definitely in our top ten things to do in Singapore! Heres a few of Nick's shots from his visit...

THE HOLMES & MARCHANT OSCARS

Last week Holmes & Marchant celebrated the last year of great work and amazing creativity with their first annual Oscars ceremony!

Kicking off from 4pm at the office we were joined by Alex the cameraman who followed our journey on the very unique Singapore Trolley around the city, finally dropping us off at Mount Faber. At this point it was still a surprise as to where the Oscars would be taking place ... the cable car journey confirmed we would be spending the evening on Sentosa. But where?

Whilst in the cable cars the team were shown the list of Oscars that would be presented throughout the evening and were asked to guess who they thought would win what ... with some interesting answers it became evident that the awards were not necessarily as obvious as they first seemed!

On reaching Imbiah lookout everyone was collected and transported to our venue for the evening. The very glamorous Capella Hotel. With red carpets ready and waiting we were all welcomed with specially "designed" cocktails at Bob's Bar.

Throughout the course of the evening we were served a very delicious five course dinner...

And every person attending was awarded with their very own H&M Oscar....

There was also a few cash prizes up for grabs! Best dressed male and female awards were voted for on the night and the winners of $500 each were Audrey and John ... I think we would all agree they looked gorgeous!

The last award of the evening, The Lifetime Achievement Award, was given to Karen who will be leaving Holmes & Marchant at the end of February...

The evening was concluded with an edited video from Alex, who did a fantastic job of capturing every ones "red carpet" interviews! I think we would all agree that is was a great night and a brilliant celebration of every ones achievements over the past year! Time to start planning the next event ...
